The Society of the Cincinnati has designed and funded several series of video presentations by historians with the goal of providing material that could be used by high school teachers. Several of these that deal with French aid to the American Revolution are linked below:

We hope that the History Channel will add videos noting the significant aid from France, such as

  • the military supplies that were critical to the victory at Saratoga
  • battles involving French and Spanish troops (Newport, Savannah, Pensacola, Yorktown)
  • global naval engagements between Great Britain, France, and Spain (which kept British forces away from the U.S.)
